With more than a decade on the identity beat, Kenya Evelyn's (EVE-lyn) reporting, video and audio production as well as media analysis has offered thoughtful, provocative insight into the communities most vulnerable to American journalism - impacting both people and policy, and shaping national discourse.
Most recently, her work as editor for Insider's Voices of Color, and previously a reporter for The Guardian, has centered the dynamic of race in public health, sports, criminal justice, national affairs and the 2020 election cycle.
Outside the newsroom, Kenya is a Washington, DC and Barbados-based football fan (both American and global), a lover of all Wisconsin sports thanks to her Milwaukee roots, and a professional samba dancer. She is also learning to crochet ahead of the arrival of her first child with her husband, Shallun.
